We’re Hiring! Program and Admin Coordinator

Exciting news! We’re looking to add another member to the BC Artscape team.

DESCRIPTION:

Artscape is currently seeking a Program and Admin Coordinator to join our team. We’re in start-up mode and are in the early stages of a number of cultural space development projects. Though we’ve done our best to outline the job responsibilities below, our work is interesting and diverse – like this job. We’re looking for a flexible, resourceful, energetic individual that understands the complexity of our work and the rewards of engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders.
This is a one-year, full time position. The work schedule may vary and/or include evenings. Additional hours are paid with time off in lieu. There is a strong potential for this contract to be extended and to grow with the experience and capacity of the successful candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the President, and working closely with our partners and Board of Directors, the Program and Admin Coordinator’s main responsibilities are to:
• Support community engagement work, planning and executing meeting logistics, preparing materials, inviting, tracking and following up with community partners.
• Manage content updates for BC Artscape website and social media channels.
• Manage our reporting to funders, ensuring that progress reports are made according to schedule.
• Research and write a variety of materials such as program descriptions, internal and external communications, reports and signage.
• Build and maintain database of stakeholders and supporters.
• Assist in the development and analysis of public surveys.
• Support the BC Artscape Board of Directors: Schedule and attend meetings, record and distribute minutes, manage minute books, prepare and distribute meeting materials, monitor meeting follow-up items, track meeting attendance

EXPERIENCE:

• At least one year professional experience in a relevant context (i.e. arts, cultural and creative industries; municipal cultural or urban planning; social planning and development; economic development) in an assistant capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in project support and administration
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast- paced, collaborative environment
• A knowledge of and passion for the intersection of culture, community and economic development; urban planning and regeneration
• Experience working with research, mapping and visualization tools and resources
• Evidence of successful collaborative working relationships with diverse colleagues, partners and stakeholders

• Highly organized, great attention to detail, with an intellectual grasp and capacity for critical thinking
• Respectful, sensitive and personable in communication with diverse partners, clients and community members
• A fast learner focused on results. A sense of urgency, self-motivated and a disciplined doer
• A multi-tasker able to juggle priorities
